TWP 100 Series Quick Facts

• Type: Oil-based, penetrating, transparent wood preservative and stain

How to Apply TWP 100

1. Let new wood weather: about 6 months for new cedar or redwood and 12 months for new pressure-treated lumber.
2. Remove other finishes: TWP goes over old TWP, but any other brand of stain or paint has to be stripped.
3. Clean and brighten with the Restore-A-Deck kit, then let the wood dry at least 2 days.
4. Apply wet-on-wet: put on the first coat, and if it soaks in within 15-30 minutes, add a second. Dense hardwoods usually take one coat.
5. Keep it dry for 2-3 days after applying.

Carpenter bees? Mix Bee Gone into the stain before you apply it.

TWP 100 FAQ

What's the difference between TWP 100 and TWP 1500?

They're used the same way and can go over each other. TWP 1500 is the lower-VOC version (350 g/L instead of 550 g/L), so it can be sold in all 50 states. Read TWP 100 vs 1500.

How much TWP 100 do I need?
