Vermont Natural Coatings Exterior Wood Stain & Waterproofer
The Stain Depot is proud to carry Vermont Natural Coatings exterior wood protection. Built on patented PolyWhey® technology, which turns whey protein from Vermont cheese making into a tough, renewable resin, these water-based products protect decks, fences, docks, siding and outdoor furniture with far less odor and VOCs than traditional oil-based deck stains.
PolyWhey® Exterior Penetrating Wood Stain
A low-VOC (45 g/L) water-based penetrating deck stain that soaks into the wood grain instead of forming a film, so it will not crack or peel like paint or solid stains. It adds UV and moisture protection, resists mold and mildew, and works on new, weathered and pressure-treated wood. Choose from Caspian Clear, Golden Cedar, Lakeside Cedar, Acorn Brown and Brackish Brown. Coverage is about 300 sq. ft. per gallon in 2–3 wet-on-wet coats, and it is dry to the touch in about an hour.
Penetrating Waterproofer Infused With Juniper
A zero-VOC clear wood waterproofer that uses juniper, a time-tested natural wood preservative, to help exterior wood shed water and fight mold, mildew and rot while staying breathable. It keeps a natural look and is a favorite for raised garden beds, cedar siding, beehives, cabins and lake homes, with typical protection of 2–3 years.
