Coverage and Application

• Coverage:
  • Rough surfaces: 100–150 sq. ft./gallon.
  • Smooth surfaces: 150–200 sq. ft./gallon.

  • Use a 4" natural bristle brush, such as the Wooster F5116, or a 3/8" nap roller cover.

Recommended Cleaning Products

• Messmer's Wood & Deck Cleaner (Part A) (omit if the deck is already clean).
• Messmer's Wood & Deck Brightener (Part B) (optional, for redwood and some cedars).

Steps for Best Results

1. Clean the Surface: Sweep away debris and clean with Part A. Use Part B for tannin stains on certain wood types.
2. Ensure Proper Conditions: Apply when temperatures are between 45°F and 90°F. Avoid applying if rain is expected within 48 hours.
3. Apply the Stain: Stir thoroughly and apply one coat with the grain. Remove any excess product within 30 minutes to avoid shiny spots.
4. Cleanup: Dispose of waste following label instructions. Clean tools with paint thinner or mineral spirits.
