Description
DeckWise Ipe Oil samples let you test the finish on your own boards before you buy gallons. Hardwoods like ipe, cumaru and tigerwood vary a lot in color, and the oil deepens their natural tone, so a test patch shows exactly how your deck will look.
Sample Options
- Ipe Oil: the original 250 VOC formula (shop gallons)
- Ipe Oil Plus: the low-VOC 100 VOC formula (shop gallons)
- Ipe Oil & Ipe Oil Plus: one of each to compare side by side
- WiseCoat: water-based hardwood sealer (shop gallons)
How to Test a Sample
- Pick a spot that gets the same sun as the rest of the deck, or use a spare board.
- Clean the wood first. A dirty or gray board won't show the true color.
- Apply a thin coat, then wipe off whatever hasn't soaked in, the same way you'd do the whole deck.
- Let it dry for about 24 hours before judging the color.
