SRD vs SRD RE and VOC States
The original Cetol SRD is a 550 VOC formula and cannot be sold in VOC-regulated states. Cetol SRD RE is the reduced-emissions version (under 275 g/L VOC) and is the one to use in those states, including Michigan. Coverage, application and colors are the same.

Cetol SRD comes in 9 semi-transparent wood tones:

How to Apply Sikkens Cetol SRD
- Prep: clean the wood and remove mildew, dirt and failing finish with a deck cleaner and brightener. Let it dry fully.
- Apply one coat at 50-90°F, out of direct sun. A natural bristle brush works best. If you roll or spray, back brush to work the stain in.
- Let it dry: about 12 hours to touch, 48 hours before light foot traffic and 72 hours before you put furniture back.

How Much Sikkens SRD Do I Need?
One gallon covers 150-200 sq ft on rough or weathered wood, or 250-400 sq ft on smooth wood and hardwoods. Since SRD is one coat, a 400 sq ft smooth deck needs about 1-2 gallons, and a 1,500 sq ft rough-sawn house needs 8-10 gallons. Use our stain coverage guide to estimate.

Is Sikkens stain discontinued?
No. Sikkens ProLuxe was renamed PPG ProLuxe. Cetol SRD is the same formula with the same color numbers under the new name.
Is Cetol SRD a deck stain?

What's the difference between SRD and SRD RE?
